About Westchester-Fairfield NLD Support

What is NLD?

NLD is a neurophysiological disorder characterized by impairments in three major areas of development: visual/spatial/organizational, sensorimotor, and social. Most people with NLD have deficits in all three of these areas, but the level of severity of impairment in each of these areas will differ among individuals with NLD. In contrast to these deficits, people with NLD have strong, often superior verbal and auditory skills.

Mission

The mission of Westchester-Fairfield NLD Support, Inc. is to provide information and support to parents of children with nonverbal learning disabilities (NLD); and to educate parents, teachers, and the general public about NLD.

Activities

Parents of children with NLD and others who love them are welcome to contact us for information at any time. Our goal is to gather and share information especially relevant to families in the Westchester and Fairfield County areas. New information is periodically added to our website and emailed to all registered members. Members are welcome to organize social events or informal family gatherings of group members. Sometimes it's great to just get together and talk with other families!
