Working with committees: why do it and how to start
IFLA Council and General Conference / . Abstract: Work for parliamentary committees has been a function of the Canadian Library of Parliament since the early days of its Research Branch. In fact, its first Director was hired in 1965 to assist the Procedures and Organization Committee. In those early days, committees had limited authority and did not often engage in substantive policy studies.
