Abstract:

The Anisio Teixeira Public Library is a new and significant cultural building in the city of Caetité -Bahía /Brazil. It was established through an association with the public and private sectors. It is an innovative initiative for the Brazilian society, which aims to guarantee the people of the region free access to information, in order to facilitate social and intellectual development, in keeping with the objectives of the important Brazilian educator, Anisio Teixeira. It is actually a facility not only for the city but also for the neighboring cities through the mobile library services. More projects like these are needed to ensure social equity.
