IFLA Council and General Conference / . Abstract: Even in the year 2000, access to bibliographic and other art reference works functions primarily by using print materials. At least this is the case in Germany and other European countries. The situation in North America may be quite different. In any case, librarians in the the important German art and museum libraries know by daily experience that a majority of users still doesn't regard electronic reference sources as an absolutely necessary part of an art library's service package. Furthermore, apparently neither librarians nor faculty seem to agree on a 'canon' of indispensable art reference resources.
