Abstract:

Recounts findings of 1993 Bellagio, Italy, conference that explored the development of new scholarly linkages in fields heavily dependant on deteriorating literature. Emphasizes the importance of raising awareness about decaying printed matter among private and public international groups. Recommendations led to formation of the European Commission on Preservation and Access, headquartered in Amsterdam.
