CLIR Reports / Council on Library and Information Resources Abstract: Examines the complex issues involved across a broad spectrum of disciplines in preserving text-cum-image materials. Addresses attributes and distribution of images in endangered books and periodicals, the characteristics of the uses and users of these materials in different disciplines, the current and potential capabilities of both analog and digital technologies to provide convenient and continuing access consonant with disciplinary requirements.
