Abstract:

This Texas-based education services librarian likens designing wireless programs to settling a new frontier. Once his associates got the lay of the land and made some important decisions about responsibility and security, they started to make downright good use of all the new-fangled technology. Now they're loaning laptops and PDAs, and they have reference librarians roving the range, wire-free.
