Abstract:

Traces the origin of the word `cyber' and derives the meaning of `cybermetrics'. Provides the definition and delineates the scope. Discusses its constituents such as cyber concepts; Web sites; search engines; cyber links; cyber information; cyber information systems, services and products; impact of cyber age on library and information science, human society, and science and technology. Shows how cyber culture is developing the world over. Discusses briefly how various concepts of cyber space can be measured.
