Elements for Reflections on Professional Ethics

Abstract:

What are the interests and the eventual stakes for professional deontology in the heart of the library, a place representative of intellectual liberty ? To respond to this question, reflection can be orientated towards access to collections, on the principles that guide their constitution ­ pluralism, selection and proscription ­ but also towards protection of the reader as much as the librarian. In this last case, mustn't we reflect on the introduction of a conscience clause with the perspective of an eventual code of ethics ?
