Cultural activities around books in the university

Abstract:

From 1992, through the impetus given by the government, and fortified by the analysis of the students'reading practices, university teachers and librarians have organized cultural activities about books and reading in the university of Bordeaux I (a scientific one), following two purposes : incitate students to improve their personal way of reading, writing, learning information ; contribute to integrate academic libraries in the university policy and further a work team spirit. The thematic meetings on books have been based during three years on exhibitions, public discussion, conferences, public reading and shows.
