District cultural projects in Mulhouse (France)

Abstract:

The multimedia libraries in Mulhouse are taking part in the local cultural development, their missions relying on the functions of cultural, educational and social tool. Three actions, launched in 1996, have contributed to the recognition of these missions : a tale workshop, small district meetings intended to make people aware of the performing arts ; at last, the operation Book/Cinema in the Coteaux district, which is the most complete illustration of this ground work engaged by the library. The conclusion is that it is possible to lead such actions from a library net.
