Abstract:

This study of phd students'use of scientific journals is being carried out within the framework of a seminar on communication and information exchange between researchers held at the Laboratoire d'étude et de recherche en sciences de la société. It is part of a larger project dealing with researchers'use of scientific journals. The results of a questionnaire survey have enabled us to specify the part libraries can play in making users self-sufficient and to suggest ways of adapting user education to this particular kind of patron.
