Teachers education trainings : a necessity

Abstract:

In France, the librarianship education is often organized by professional librarians. They are generally teaching as well. To undertake this job they don't first receive any pedagogy lessons. This deficiency in a field they know very approximately may have bad consequences on the development and on the efficiency of the training they organize and also on the value trainees and employers grant to the results of the training course. Education aims, lessons to give, public to train expectations, education methods, logistics must be all carefully looked into before the beginning of a training. This is the point of the teacher education trainings the Librarianship Education Center Mediadix has organized since 1993.
