University libraries and electronic document interchange between libraries

Abstract:

Here and there in the world, commercial or institutional services and experiences try to bridge the gap between access to information and access to document by proposing to the reader direct services with electronic delivery or fax. The European project EDIL is testing the interchange between four countries using different architectures and standards of electronic documents put in GEDI standards and going through relays which ensure the interoperability. In France, stations have been specifically developed to enable electronic delivery.
